With a bunch to do, are there tips for selecting stamps for priority candidates. And are there bulk rate discounts that benefit?

One of the values of this community is being able to save you significant amounts of time and money when deciding on certification purchase. I recommend posting some scans of individual stamps you think are worthy of certs and then following the advice of the folks here. Don |

I believe you are way, way premature about requiring certification of anything. Re: Missionary stamps and the like. The cart before the horse type of action. First a whole lot of learning. Show some scans. |

As for the need of expertizing, doesn't the stamp store require it for items over $500 ? |

Randy referenced "cart before the horse". How do you know that what you have is actually real and worth over $500? Oh, send it for a cert. Slow down my friend. |

Why do you think that if you have individual stamps worth over $500 the philatelic house was not interested in the collection? |

These two are Japan #3,4 hopefully. The 88' album aside from contents did not draw much response. That's ok, I understand, they probably had multiples of similar. |

Japan 3 & 4 are imperf, so the green one is clearly not what you hoped it was. |

Let me explain FORGERIES to you and other new readers .
First forgeries have been around for 150 years ,so just because a album is old or it sat in a vault for 75 years is no guarentee .
Second there are many people on this board with different levels and interest who can help spot 90% of all forgeries .
It is not often we tell people to sent it in to be expertized .
Only about 1/2 of one percent and maybe even less than that, that a expert needs to send it to a committee of experts for a opinion . |
