Scott 621 - Stamp Colour Oddity

Here is my sheet of Scott 621 Queen Elizabeth stamp.



Stamp position 17 has an oddity in the Queen's hair.
Redish/brown colour..All others are normal.


Here is the actual colours taken with my colour software.


Probably a one off, but worth keeping.

similar near identical red spot at pos 24 from my 621ii(Fluo) plate block.

The only one I have with red hair is 621iii (Medium Fluorescent) position 21. The red is not as vivid as wert's 621 (unknown florescence) position 17 or Pollux's 621ii (Fluorescent) position 24.
My scan is great, but is terrible once I upload here and I've redone everything several times.


Pollux's position 25 has red in the background to the right of her head.


This is not mine and of a unknown position.


As there at least two different fluorescent varieties (F and MF) and three different positions, it is doubtful that there are constant varieties of the transient reds.

Very good finds BlackJag and Pollux....Must be just poor attention to quality.

Also the Scott 620 {that was in an earlier post } showing additional poor print quality as shown below..
