Hello fellow collectors!

I recently came across someone selling a set of covers from Bill Clinton's 1997 inauguration for relatively cheap. It got me thinking perhaps it would be cool to start a collection of inauguration covers for all presidents since I was born (which would be Clinton onward).

Where might I be able to find these relatively inexpensively? I know Mystic has some, but as with everything else they seem a bit overpriced.

As a separate question, is there a way to get an inauguration day postmark on a cover without physically going to Washington, DC? Like, is there a DC post office that would take these in by mail for next January?

Thanks in advance for all your help!

For the time-span you desire, they are all readily available on eBay, Hipstamp, etc., as mass-produced souvenirs. Be patient and shop around.

The 2021 information to mail for your own should published in the U.S. Postal Bulletin as we get into December:

If your lucky to have a live stamp show in your area, try the FDC vendor & look in the covers for $1 box or ask specifically for the year. Also I go to an on-line vendor "Buck-a-Cover' from Canada. Their web-site store is set-up so that you can navigate to all types (US & foreign). good luck (Also usually USPS has a commemorative cover set right after the ceremony (but it is pricy).

Inauguration covers are very inexpensive - you should think in terms of $1 to $2 for a single cover, or something like 25 cents to 50 cents for a bulk lot of them. They make for a fun and inexpensive way to collect covers, and you can start making your own from now on.
