i was wondering what the red text says, I can only see via as a start and of the in secon line, anyone any idea?

Via Nicaragua Ahead of the Mails - the letter was carried from San Francisco by Vanderbilt's Nicaragua route instead of the post office route via Panama. Although carried out of the mails, it was required to be paid at the transcontinental rate of 6 cents. The letter entered the mail at New York.
