Chile Stamp Covers & Overprints

The 2 varieties of the 1903 overprnt'Diez Centavos'.
In type 1 the upper cross bar of the 'T' is at an angle.In type 2 it is more horizontal.The pair on cover is type 1.
The cover has a Bela Szekula dealers label.These were pasted on covers by Bela.For more reading below:

The slant "T" type also shows the three bars of the "E" of equal length, whereas the straight "T" shows the "E" with its middle bar shorter than the other two. (Especially so in Floortrader's example.) Is that always so?

Was 19$90 the correct rate for the airmail cover?

I think this cover was uprated by maybe 10 pesos for philatelic reasons because the entire set is on cover.I don't know the exact rates for the 1930's

In 1910, a syndicate including government officials succeeded in getting approval to overprint large quantities of a new definitive issue for use in the sparsely populated Juan Fernandez Islands. This was a speculative issue. In addition to creating stamps for the philatelic market, it would make certain value of the unoverprinted definitive issue more scarce and, therefore, more valuable. The ensuing scandal forced the government to make the overprinted stamps valid for use throughout Chile.

The sender wrote Canton de Vaud Clarens Suisse.It could be the person to whom it was addressed to was no longer at that address and a new address furnished.Menton & Alexandra hotel were written as a correction and the old address and c/o lined over.The violet Clarens departure handstamp means it was sent out from Clarens.
There is no postage due indication.
The postal service was very swift in those days as the cancels speak for themselves.It would be no faster today.

3 May 1927 Correo Aereo Testart Issue.typographed ovpt. on the non Issued stamp commemorating the centennial of the battle of Maipu.Issued overprints include: 40c,80c,1P20,1P60,2Pesos.
Louis Testart director of the Post & Telegraph was also founder of Aero club of chile in 1913 and implicated in many endeavors related to Chilean aviation.The stamps were issued for Air-mail service between Santiago & Valparaiso with a Morane-Saulnier of 120hp named "Condor".The first commenorative flight was May 3 1927 & lasted 45min.The route ended March 16 1928 after Testarts airplane crashed.After, to prevent speculation over these stamps, large stocks were incinerated by the authorities.It is estimated there are no more than 3000 complete series in existence.
