Note the "Void Unauthorized Copy" text showing in the background. Also the stamp image placement on the cert seems wrong. When you look at others the signature always crosses onto the image to some degree. |

I went and looked at a couple items that I had purchased that had PSAG certs. They were both from the last 2 years and neither of them are a full sheet of paper. They are small certs and the picture has a seal pressed into the picture and signature. I think this is a faked cert. |

Is it possible to verify the PSAG cert online? I know you can look them up for APS and PSA, but I can't seem to find anything on PSAG. |

The cert does not appear to be a fake; PSAG has offered certs in two sizes for several years now and this is in the format of the larger size cert. The submitter chooses which size he wants on the submittal form. The security paper the cert is printed on has been a PSAG feature from their startup; the original cert cannot be copied without revealing the hidden security text. The cert does appear to misidentify the stamp; the owner should contact PSAG to have a correct replacement issued. As rogdcam said, PSAG does not have an online cert database at this time. |

The certificate appears to be a copy. The word VOID should not be visible on an original certificate. Much like the word VOID on checks which shows up when copied. |

The cert is a copy. As I said above, an added security feature is the signature crossing onto the photo. It does not on the Hipstamp cert. It absolutely should be brought to the PSAG's attention. |

It could be the seller put the void copy over the cert in the pic. Shady deal... |

I contacted Randy Shoemaker as well as the dealer. I think they were trying to communicate between the two of them. |

I asked for info a few days agao and got the response below:
Me
Faked Cert12/10/2020 09:40:14 This item has a faked cert. VOID....COPY is clearly seen in the image of the cert. Not to mention, the stamps are not the correct perf for scott 446.

Re: Faked Cert12/10/2020 17:24:25 Hello, these certs when scanned, show as VOID COPY in the scanned image, but the cert is genuine and has an embossed blindstamp at bottom. However, I am attempting to take the pair off listing in Hipstamp, due to concerns that it may not be a SC 446. Thanks for contacting me about this. Sincerely, monatk4 (uscprestigepostal)
Just my opinion but, having seen this I would NEVER accept a cert from PSAG. The perf determination is a HUGE friggin', galactically incompetent miss. |

The difference between a perf. 8.5 and a perf. 10 isn't something you need an expert committee to tell you about.
In fact, you shouldn't even need a perf gauge!
So whether the cert. is genuine or not is rather a moot point. |
