My understanding is that this stamp was issued in 1934. I found this cover with a 1933 cancel. Just curious as to how this would be possible? Any help or information would be appreciated.
June 30, 1934 is the date the stamp was issued. January 15, 1933 to June 30, 1934 is over 23 weeks. Or almost 6 months. That clerk would have to be on something.
The second 3 could easily be a poorly struck 8. These cancels are made with a hand-held "hammer" and are often distorted by rapid strikes of the hammer.
