The Asheville NC Stamp Club, founded 1924, is now accepting remote members. Remote membership includes our quarterly The Smoky Mountain Philatelist Journal (packed with great information) and participation in our monthly meetings via Zoom. Our online Zoom meetings feature content such as interesting programs and presentations or our popular club auctions. Membership is just $10 per year.
It includes links to a sample The Smoky Mountain Philatelist Journal. If anyone has any questions please let me know. We have an online meeting and auction tomorrow (1/17/21) at 2PM EST, you can participate in the auction if you join beforehand.

The Asheville Stamp club has a new website, it is located here http://ashevillestampclub.org/

Meetings are live broadcasted each month, guests are welcome!!

A great way to drop in, network with other collectors outside your local area, and support our hobby. For remote guests and users; the Zoom links for the entire year are published on the website 'Meeting Info' page.
This month (Sunday May 15th, 2:00PM EDT) will feature a presentation by Randall Chet entitled "Columbia, a uniquely American goddess".

Quote:
Just about every American citizen is familiar with Lady Liberty. Most though are probably unaware that the allegorical figure of Liberty traces her roots through early nineteenth century to Columbia, who encompassed all the values of our new nation. This presentation illustrates her evolution from 1800 till the present through her earliest appearances on fiscal paper, revenue, newspaper and postage stamps.

The new website also has a number of articles and previous presentation available to everyone to enjoy.

Even if you are not a member, please feel free to drop in and join us.

...and drop in on the Vanderbilts.

A visit to the Vanderbilt estate (Biltmore) takes at least one full day.
