I have never really been into stamps, but my wife's father was and we inherited a massive amount of stamps (US and foreign), first day issue covers, and US processed mail dating back to 1864. Some f the letters were written by a Union soldier in the Civil war. The covers are quite pretty, with designs, etc. To me, it seems and impossible task to catalogue every piece, but if that is necessary I'll do it.
I don't want to flood the forum with tons of scans, but will provide some of the more interesting finds (I understand "interesting" doesn't mean "rare" of "valuable").
One of the more interesting finds is what I have posted below; a "booklet" of confederate states blocks of four.
Any information on the confederate stamps would be appreciated as well as suggestions as to how to liquidate the collection. Thanks!
