Trimmed from an off-center booklet pane. Can easily fool. Eye-catching at first, but actually nothing special. The lower left stamp in this pane might be even larger than your example:
little confused. the margins are larger on all four sides to have perf holes originally cut into; on all of this type stamp. if it is a booklet stamp it would still have perfing right? put a perfed stamp against this one and the white margins are still to large. I would think that the margins would be less to remove the perfing thus making a fake.
That's a beauty, John B! That was my thought, too, and it looks like your example is as good an example as any to make the point.
This is why imperf PAIRS are the standard for imperf examples.
ETA: booklet panes are laid out on the 'sheet' and the pairs in between (what are going to be...) the booklet panes are not perforated between. IF you could find a booklet pane that is grossly miscut, you COULD find imperf-between pairs
