He has been in prison but some of his accounts have remained active. His girlfriend might be helping or other people but he is still in action. |

Very interesting way to present this stuff. He/they show one stamp (the 15c) with a clear cert. Makes one think, "This looks like a good lot." Many of the others look regummed and/or reperfed, though. It is up to $2481 with almost 4 days remaining.
It's like watching a plane crash in slow motion. Glad I'm not on that plane. |

Who in the world would spend 2500 on eBay w/o knowing the seller. It really is the Wild West out there. |

The seller has 40+ eBay accounts, bidding up your own listing removes any concerns that it will not sell for what you want it to. Don |

Ryle has used the "Nassau Street" con angle many times before. Some impressive stamp doctoring going on there too. |

Here is a "mint Scott 12" from one of these Ryle group lots: https://www.ebay.com/itm/US-Early-i...393148645806This is supposed to be Red Brown Scott 12. No, the yellowy color is not because of "scanner calibration". There is something very wrong here but Ryle relies upon greed and bargain hunting and inexperience on a buyers behalf to blind one to reality. |

I've probably said this before about similar threads, but, for the casual reader (eg me) and, more importantly, for the people who collect these stamps and might be tempted to buy, it would be helpful if the particular problems with the stamps in these Cartel listings were identified. |

Seems Ralph Orton was a very early adopter of clear mounts. And they're so fresh and clean looking. |

Geoff - Point well taken. The problem becomes how lengthy and involved Ryle's deceptions are. Repeating it every time is a task. Performing a search on this forum will bring up a LOT of material as well as some victims personal stories. Suffice it to say that one would find info on forged certificates, shaved proofs, cleaned cancels, regummng, reperforating, misrepresentation to include knowingly wrong IDs, image manipulation, fake sales material, shill bidding, money laundering, swapping "sold" stamps between multiple eBay accounts repeatedly and so many other bad things. All brought to you by an imprisoned ( present and past) lifelong felonious conman who operates at the million pound level of cheating and deception. One of his many shining achievements has been creating fake passports using the IDs of dead Irish babies. I believe his current prison stay is related to almost one million pounds in tax fraud perpetrated on Her Majesty's Government. Ryle has been operating on eBay since dinosaurs roamed the planet and although his accounts do get shut down at times he is never truly gone. It really is a joke when you consider the stories of other sellers that are members of this forum that were shut down temporarily over suspicion of money laundering or because they listed covers with the word "Cuba" involved. |

The thing to know about the cartel is that every sale is a fraud. Sometimes the stamps themselves are legit, but the shill bidding forces the price as high as they can get it. Sometimes the stamps look to good to be true, and they are. Buying anything from these ids is a bad idea always. |

I just noticed that the gmail address for "stampsandcover" is the same as the as the gmail address for another cartel account, "bank-notes", save for one minor change. Hardly a coincidence. "bank-notes" is in use as well but is "idling" at the moment with mostly Buy-It-Now listings priced to avoid a real sale. This is also a typical MO for Ryle. One account starts scamming and the others go static. Once the dust settles the static account starts scamming and the first scamming account goes static or even dark. |
