Hello, first of all, is this the right forum for this question? Second, Has anyone had to help their post master learn about this so they could obtain their permit? My post master isn't against it, it's just that she's never heard of it and thinks it may have to be done online. I have form 3615 and she still doesn't believe me. So gave me the email for the main shipping office. Keeps saying it's bulk and 200 dollars.

Use the above link for the explanation in the Domestic Mail Manual and print a copy to show to your postmaster.
You may have to go to a different post office where they are less difficult?
Also, if you use the correct nomenclature ( Mailer's Postmark Permit ) rather than MPP, you can search this forum for lots of posts about this subject

It's not $200 (wrong permit), it's free last time I heard and all you have to do submit the form and get it approved. You have to include your cancel design for approval at the same time if you haven't already done so. You will have to walk your local postmaster through this since they have obviously never dealt with an MPP user before. Your postmaster isn't reading the submission form carefully and is confusing things with some other type permit. If you know of another MPP user you might have your postmaster call that PO (identifiable by zip code on MPP cancel) to convince themselves of what they should be doing. Or have your postmaster call someone higher up the food chain.

I hope you will decide to try to use something fancier than what is strictly allowed. The workaround appears to be to use the standard style CDS to cancel mail, but have a picture handstamp (which can be changed at will) placed alongside and off the stamps.

The first few times you drop off your postmarked mail, you should have a copy of your approval so that the clerk knows what you are about. If your local PO is big enough to have a commercial window/door, you probably can use that.

Please do come back show us that you got it approved and post an image of a cover with your MPP. Block out the addressee with a slip of paper or a Post-It.

Always a good idea to not use abbreviations in thread titiles. You could edit the title.
