My lack of knowledge is showing...again...still
I had it it my head that perforations should "miss" each other where they cross.
Once I read rogdcam's response I started looking more closely at stamp blocks from that period and sure enough some do and some don't line up nicely where they cross each other.
So now I am looking at stamp blocks from the Scott # 500's and on and the perfs seem to line up much better on the crossing points
They musta fired the guy who was drinking sometime in the 60's
... or the perforation system vastly improved, I suspect the latter to be true.
Either way it just proves just how much I have to learn.
