Rod, not to rain on your parade, but all those Irish SOAR stamps seem to be in Euros?

A great deal of information on the Irish ATM/computer-vended stamps can be found at the ateeme.net website. Offhand, I don't know the highest denomination the machines are programmed to sell. It is possibly 99.95 euros, but I could be wrong.

Here is my highest denomination...so far. This is a 2019 stamp.

Apart from being in Euro, Eire had its own Punt IEP from 10 May 1938. The link with the GBP was broken when Ireland joined the EMU and no longer was on par with GBP from 30 March 1979.

ince the Irish Post Office started to experiment with ''stamps on a roll'' - also called SOAR - in 2008, most of the "traditional" definitives disappeared from usage.

Stamp collectors were not so pleased hence they did pay less attention to all the versions of the SOAR's they would normally have discovered.

These are not the first issued but just here to give you an idea :)

More details - not so much about the characteristics of the dispending machines - but about the basic stamps as they got printed.
