I read the 1890 cancel on this German stamp as being from Vogelsang, Kreis Schwelm. But I can't find a Vogelsang near the city of Schwelm.
Has it been absorbed into Schwelm? Or what?
My thanks in advance for any help with this.

It is part of Gevelsberg.

Look for the paragraph "Stadtgliederung."

Schwelm and Gevelsberg are part of the Ennepe-Ruhr-Kreis.

The Ordenburg Vogelsang dates from after 1933, the training camp was established later. The stamp pre-dates this by more than 40 years. Vogelsang that is part of Gevelsberg is situated nearby and may have given its name to the Ordensbug. That seems a more likely place to have had a post office and cancellation in 1890.

It's easy to find in Google maps as well (search for "Vogelsang Schwelm").
And there are many related locations - e.g. streets, primary school, protestant church - carrying the name.
