Hi Simone
You posted a very difficult NFLD stamp to verify whether or not it is genuine or one of many fakes that are associated with NFLD stamps.

I am posting one of mine to compare..Things to look for are things like the"period" after "ST", etc, etc.
Below is a link to do further investigation.

Also John Walsh editor of N.S.S.C. {Newfoundland Specialized Stamp Catalouge} has a great book on Newfoundland stamps...Might be a good idea to contact him to see what he thinks...Also if you want to find out if it is indeed genuine, contact the Vincent Graves Greene
Philatelic Research Foundation to have them take a look at it....Contact web site below.

GOOD LUCK ON YOUR SEARCH..

Check out the similarity with one of my 23's..Think trodent is correct...23

Hello, I personally think it is a Scott #23. The "Rose" Color

for it to be a Scott #9, it would be more "ORANGISH/Scarlett" in color.
see the following link for an example
https://www.stampsandcanada.com/sta...p=1422&cat=1

Is that a tear in the upper middle or a piece of lint?

if not, it is has an approx. value of $120 ($60x100% nh factor). Probably not worth it to get it expertised. my 2 cents worth

Trodent
