Hi, I believe hy-brasil is correct. Turkey Sc.#548 overprinted for Cilicia. The stamp you are comparing it to is Turkey Sc#547. |

Quote: The stamp you are comparing it to is Turkey Sc#547. Agree. Quote: Hi, I believe hy-brasil is correct. Turkey Sc.#548 overprinted for Cilicia. I suggest this is incorrect, The Stamp is T.E.O / Cilicie on Scott #547 (5pi on 2pa) Making it Cilicia Sc# 85A CV: Dash or straight line (Not sure what that means) Happy to stand corrected. |

Dash= The stamp is known in a stated form or variety, but info, is lacking, or insufficient to establish a usable catalogue value
PS: This is where Stanley Gibbons and I , part friends. Dashed if I can find it in the jumbled Cilicia in the 1960 Catalogue.

PS Agmas, Your stamp has 2 minor varieties (I think, as scan is poor)
1. TEO is on 1 line (normal has a raised "O")
2. Cilicie is shown as Cilicle

Hi rod222, Scott lists the Turkey #548(yellow circled stamp above) with English characters. Scott #547(red circled stamp above)has Arabic characters. Therefore it's Cilicia Sc #86 or #86a. Edit, because of my stupidity!! |

Hi agmasd56, Arabic only characters= Turkey Scott#547,with Cilicia overprint Scott#85 etc.. Arabic and English characters= Turkey Scott#548, with Cilicia overprint Scott#86 etc.. What year is your Scott Catalog? I'm using the 2021 Scott Classic as my reference. |
