On October 5, 1966 the Federal Republic of Germany (BRD) issued a set of four semi-postal charity stamps showing scenes from the Brothers Grimm's fairy tale The Frog Prince (1812). The 50 +25 value (Mi #526), shown here, depicts the happy ending after the transformation.

From wikipedia, "An aspect of the story is referred to in Petronius's Satyricon, in which the character Trunalchio remarks, 'qui fuit rana nunc est rex' ('The man who was once a frog is now a king'). Other scholars, however, argue that this may actually be a jab at emperor Nero, who was often mockingly compared to a frog."

The design was done by artist and art therapist Liz Rackard, who also created the art for Ireland's two 2017 computer-vended Christmas stamps.
