On November 27, 1961 Romaniaissued a set of three stamps commemorating the 15th anniversary of the United Nations Organization (UNO). The lower two values of the set were printed in separate sheets with every other field being a label bearing a slogan.

Shown here is the 40 ban stamp and its label (Sc #1470). The label states, "The younger generation to play an active role for peace and peaceful coexistence." One of the many versions of Picasso's 'Dove of Peace' is shown in the background.

Here is Japan's August 25, 1995 80 yen stamp commemorating the 18th summer Universiade marathon at Fukuoka. Stamp shows three male marathon runners.

From wikipedia, "at the 18th Summer Universiade, the athletic events were held at the Hakatanomori Stadium in Fukuoka, Japan from 29 August to 3 September...The 1995 competition featured the last Universiade marathon races, as the distance was replaced by the shorter half marathon event in future editions."

Takaki Morikawa of Japan won the gold medal in the men's marathon, and Masako Kusakaya of Japan won the gold medal in the women's marathon.

This July 13, 1962 5c stamp of Canada was issued to commemorate Jean Talon, Count d'Orsainville (1626-1694). Stamp shows Jean Talon presenting gifts to a married couple.

From wikipedia, "(He) was the first Intendant of New France (Canada)...appointed to serve as Intendant of Justice, Public Order and Finances in Canada, Arcadia and Newfoundland for two terms: 1665-8 and 1670-2...He encouraged population growth through marriage grants and baby bonuses."

On December 5, 1987 Thailand issued a set of 15 stamps commemorating the 60th birthday of King Bhumibol. This 2 baht value (Sc #1204) from the set depicts the king inspecting a raised bed of cabbages while visiting a farm.

From wikipedia, "Bhumibol Adulyade (1927-2016), conferred with the title King Bhumibol the Great in 1987 (officially conferred by King Vajiralongkorn in 2019) was the ninth monarch of Thailand from the Chakri dynasty, titled Rama IX."

Here is the Republic of Korea's June 20, 1967 7 + 3 won semi-postal stamp (Sc #B9) honoring its soldiers who served in the Viet Nam conflict. Surtax went to veterans and their families.

This February 15, 1982 $18 value (Sc #2287) of Taiwan, R.O.C. is from the four-stamp set showing scenes from the Ku Cheng Reunion opera. The stamps show photographic images of performers in the opera, and this stamp shows the reunion of the three 'blood brothers' at Ku Cheng.

From stamplibrary.info, "The Ku Cheng Reunion is a tale of righteousness and brotherly loyalty. During the last years the Eastern Han Dynasty (25-220 A.D.) there were three sworn blood brothers, Liu Pei, Kuan Yu, and Cheng Fei. In the tumult of battle, Kuan Yu was separated from his brothers and carried a long way from them...After many perilous adventures and hardships, Kuan Yu was reunited with Cheng Fei and Liu Pei at Ku Cheng."

On December 1, 1956 Sweden issued a three-stamp set commemorating the centenary of Swedish railways. The 10 ore value (Facit #483A, coil version shown) of this set shows three railway workers repairing track.
