On May 5, 1993 Germany issued this 100 pf stamp (Mi #1676) to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Coburg Convent. The Coburg Convent is an association, similar to some American college fraternities. Stamp depicts three 19th century university students parading with the association's tricolor (green, red and white) banner.

From wikipedia, "The Coburg Convent of the academic country teams and gymnastics associations at German Universities is a corporate association."

Two values from the DDR's 1953-4 "5 Year Plan" definitive series depict groups of three people. First pic shows the offset-printed 12 pf stamp (Mi #367) showing a worker, peasant, and intellectual and the 84 pf value (Mi #379) depicting a family of 3 and Picasso's dove of peace, as used by Soviet bloc countries during the 1950's and 60's. Second pic shows the same two values (Mi #s 410, 422) of the letterpress-printed set.
