I fell for this stamp, the design is just beautiful,
I thought OK, I'll bid $8 with maybe a top of $12
Way overbid I thought.

Well here it is, and still going, any ideas why?
Something I am missing perhaps.
What is a "cartridge" cinderella?

Ripped heavily on one side in this case. I have never seen one of these before. Like you I would only pay a small amount for a mysterious item like this.

SOLD $133.50 +ship

3 bidders, my lowly offer, and 2 others, 1 with 98 buys on eBay, and the winner Circa 5000.
Love to know the motivation of the buyer.

Can't explain the bidding or sale pricing, but...

Google Cinderella Stamp Forum. Salvation Army stamp.

Reportedly dates to c 1917. Reportedly there were two sets.

Fund raising stamps aimed at children.

Promotional phrasing: Fire a halfpenny each week to the SA. In order to obtain one of the stamps.

Torn stamps normally go for 10% or less of untorn. So at AU $133.50 a sold solid bid for an undamaged copy should be north of AU $1335.00.

Besides the obvious scarcity, Native American images are quite popular and can command some stand up and salute prices.

Great looking design. "fire a Cartridge of at least a halfpenny a week."
