Can anyone help me understand a bit better about what might be going on here? The edges of many of the letters are fuzzy and seemingly ill-defined. Have recently been working on the Small Queens and find them to be an interesting issue.

Always impressed with the knowledge and detail-orientation of our SCF Canada contributors!

There are a lot of minor kiss and slip prints found on this value. They are mistaken for re-entries sometimes, but are the result of imperfect printing.

Thanks, Archerg, Robert, and Chris. Probably the quality that best describes the image is that it's really quite "fuzzy" to the eye but also seems to lack the precision of the doubling that seems to occur in re-entries. I've been trying to up my scanning game so re-did this at 2400dpi and scanned another 36 along with it (cut apart to upload) as a sanity check to compare/contrast. I'm really leaning toward an inking issue at this point.
