Hello,

My first post here, so apologies if it is not in the correct part of the site...

I am having trouble identifying this Lebanese postal tax stamp. I have found the type in Stanley Gibbons catalogue in Lebanon, Postal Tax Stamps, 1945 with overprint, but there is no mention of a 2.5 piastres red and none with my overprint.

Other examples online are the same - various versions of the stamp with overprint, but none like mine.

Understanding the arabic overprint might be a start. Any help would be appreciated.

Simon

Guess.
Lebanese Revenue Stamp, surcharged. (Droit Fiscal)
My "go to" link, The Revenue Reverend, does not collect Lebanon Revenues, sadly.
I have no literature covering Lebanon Revenues either.
One would need Barefoot for ID. (or Duston)
Suggest the script reads "Centimes 10"
Good Luck.

PS It has a vertical red machine cancel of some sort "Beyrouth" etc.

You are a vey skilled researcher !
Thanks Vayolene.

Note: I have 2 similar designs, 5 and 25 Piastres,
Left hand mandrel is inscribed "Droit Judiciare"

More Revenues, for when we pick up a Barefoot or Duston
