I came across this set of the 1st issue of Japan stamps shown below. Actually I think these are a nice reference and easier to use than a catalog. I'd like to get a similar set for my countries, does anyone know anything about these?
I also found the set below, I'm not sure about these?
Unfortunately, they are rather unuseful as references. All these engraved issues were done stamp-by-stamp by hand separately, so there are 40 different variations in each sheets of 40, times the different number of plates used for each design.
