Japan 1974 Fairy tales - 3v The stamp depicts a scene where Princess Kaguya' is returning to the Moon, scorted by guardians with fans. 'The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter' , a monogatari (fictional prose narrative) containing elements of Japanese folklore was written by an unknown author in the late 9th or early 10th century during the Heian period.
