Century art - 6v in booklet

FDC

The stamps, all engraved by Czeslaw Slania, depicts Gustavian art paintings. Gustavian style was the leading style in Swedish architecture, decor and crafts during the Gustavian era, inspired by French Neoclassicism. The style was established in the 1780s, and is named after King Gustav III of Sweden.

The detached stamp depicts the painting 'The lady with the veil', from Alexander Roslin (1718-1793), a swedish artist who worked in Scania, Bayreuth, Paris, Italy, Warsaw and St. Petersburg, primarily for members of aristocratic families. He combined insightful psychological portrayal with a skillful representation of fabrics and jewels.(wiki)
