It's on a brazilian stamp of 1883...

Not much luck here,
I checked about 3000 Brazil Postmarks (Carimbo)
Very few Boxed 2 line Pmks, most are single line boxed.

Paquebot, of the 6-8 examples shown, none match.

There is a written example : "P. Das Flores"
I have no idea if the "P" stands for Paquebot
You may a better understanding of that.
It may mean "Province"

I'll check Carimbo pts 2 and 3
If any results I'll post.

Just thinking aloud,
1878... was that not an era where the spelling was BUENOS AYRES ?
That may dismiss your suggestion.

About "P. das Flores", means Porto (Port of Flowers, in english) ....
The paquebot mark you show on the letter is french, so the "Y", in Spanish has always been "Buenos Aires".
So, my guess would be a letter from Brazil to Argentina, via paquebot ...
