$532,007 in sales but 20 employees? Huh?

I would carefully read the fine print on any type of fractional ownership deal.
How many shares are they going to sell and at what rate?
Will there be any annual costs to the fractional owners - Insurance, storage, etc.?
Are your fractional sales marketable? What if I want to sell before they do?
What percentage of the final sales prices do the fractional owners get?

Ok you guys win .........I read this "Creating a world leading digital platform for collectibles " I thought they would buy one or two world known stamp firms and a chat room plus a few websites like the Cinderella site and a few others and develope it all in the next five years as "the go to site for marketing stamps "

But --NO !!!!

They are developing a site to sell "TIME SHARES" for collectibles and sell the latest "HOT" trinket to beginners from the Channel Island 's much like all the other scams and philatelic garbage that is now floating around in Junk Lots .

This is all slick marketing and has nothing to do with experience and knownlegdeable collectors ....my mistake .

The difference between this and timeshares is you can actually occupy the timeshare. With this you likely get a website to see it like security but liquidity may be a challenge.

Perhaps they will send you a 'limited edition, numbered' reproduction stamp to put in your album.

Since British pension regulations allow investments in non-financial assets, I do not see any reason why it should not be possible to offer funds that invest in art or collectables. And the UK may not be the only country that allows this.

I see no reason why this has "nothing to do with experience and knowledgeable collectors." Anyone can learn to study markets for collectables, art, wines, etc.. In fact, such people might proof themselves to be very knowledgeable. None of us was born knowledgeable on the subject of stamps. Why shouldn't they employ collectors to manage their portfolio? By linking up with Stanley Gibbons, they have access to experienced and knowledgeable stamp traders and even philatelists.

Since the Royal Collection needs this stamp for completeness, perhaps they can put together a plan for gifting it to Her Majesty The Queen for her 100th birthday. It would work whereby anyone can partake of the gift by buying any amount of units at a certain price with those buying/paying more having their name further up first in a big birthday card book that will go with the stamp gift. For those partaking of the same amount, the names will be from a first partake basis as to who bought first. This might sound farfetched but there are many stamp collectors who admire Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Given George V didn't think it was worth the money 100 years ago, I'd say the Collection can live without it!

GeoffHa, good piece
Interesting thought, fractionalizing stamps as an investment, holding. Then again we have fractionalized ownership in farms, ranches, race horses, race cars, and really anything we can think of. More interesting in my opinion, as a harbinger to the future. If S.G. Is successful in offsetting their costs it might be possible to reconstruct the invert Jenny plate of 100 by the same financial wizardry.

Perhaps I can fractionalise myself - don't know if anyone's tested the investment market for grumpy old men
