Need Help Identifying Possible US #209 (Type A49B) With Grill

I have what looks like a US #209 (type A49b) with a grill. See photos.

No grill is mentioned in the 2021 Scott specialized catalog.

Is the grill fraudulent? Thanks for any help.

It has a double grill, but fake, very feebly fake.

I agree. It looks fake. It doesn't really look like a proper grill.

Definitely a fake grill. A real grill has points in very straight, very parallel lines.

Hello everyone, yes that is a very poor try to make it look like it has grill, unfortunately these days there are some people trying to take advantage of others with things like that just to make a bit of money, I'm sorry but that's the truth, I hope you didn't pay for that stamp.

Not to worry. It has been in my collection for years. Catalog value of the 209 is only $6.

I have a few 209s on HipStamp listed for sale.

It would make more sense for someone to fake a grill on one of the more valuable varieties of this stamp.

Thanks for the help. First time I've ever come across a fake grill.
