I have seen references on this forum to USPS stamp subscriptions. But when I search the USPS web site, I can find no details. In fact, what I find leads me to believe that it may just be another name for an online order. But then, listed under USPS products, I find "Stamp Subscriptions". Using "Help" to search for more info was of no help whatsoever. Does anyone here have a "Stamp Subscription"? Or am I correct in believing such a thing does not truly exist? If it exists, how does it work?
rogdcam ... I think you are speaking "tongue in cheek" and only suspect this might be the case. Unfortunately, I also think your assessment is likely an accurate one. My question arose because of the NDC press sheets. A couple of my philatelic friends have been pursuing these and one of them asked me if I knew how USPS subscriptions worked. Now that I have an answer, I'll pass it on ... along with the caveat that they might not work as intended for NDCs. I see a subscription as being little different from an online or phone order. What happened to me in 2015 when I ordered NDC press sheets for the Gifts of Friendship & Civil War 1865 issues could just as easily happen if one had a subscription. My orders were accepted ... and then, days later, were canceled due to the sheets being sold out. I stopped collecting modern U.S. stamps at the end of 2020. Relatively good timing on my part.
