Spain 2009 Nature Park if Izki
Nature Park of Izki is located in the Province of Álava in the Basque Country. The park features a low-relief, forested river valley, while the flanking Upper Cretaceous limestone formation is carved by erosion into craggy landscape, such as the Peña del Castillo Peak and Izki Canyon shown on the stamp.

United States 2022 National Marine Sanctuaries
Farallon Islands are a group of craggy islets and sea stacks off the coast of San Francisco, California. They are outcrops of the Salinian Block, a large geologic terrane of granitic continental crust originated from the Sierra Nevada mountains and is now situated on the west side of San Andreas Fault.

Colombia 2018 Regions of Colombia – Catatumbo
Los Estoraques is located in the Cordillera Oriental of Colombia in the Norte de Santander Department. The landscape of large brownstone pedestals and columns is sculped by severe erosion of the Ocaña batholith (Early Jurassic age). Each rock pedestal is covered in a thin layer of hardened iron and magnesium minerals.

Canada 2018 From Far and Wide
Hopewell Rocks are located on the shores of the upper reaches of the Bay of Fundy in New Brunswick. They are red-brown conglomerate and sandstone outcrops of the Carboniferous Hopewell Cape Formation. These sea stacks are carved from a large sea cliff following the end of glaciation.

United States 2016 National Parks
Arches National Park is located in eastern Utah, in the Colorado River Plateau. The park features more than 2000 natural sandstone arches, including the well-known Delicate Arch shown on the stamp. These arches are developed mostly within the Entrada formation of Jurassic age (180 to 140 million years ago).

New Zealand 2019 Rock Legends
Castlepoint Reef is located along the Wairarapa coast at the southern end of North Island. This outcrop (1 km long, 50 m above sea level) of Lower Pleistocene shelly limestone and calcareous sandstone was uplifted to the surface by fault movement.

New Zealand 2019 Rock Legends
Kaiaraara Rock, also known as the Duke's Nose, is a prominent volcanic plug overlooking the Whangaroa Harbor in Northland. The harbor was formed ca. 6000 years ago by the drowning of a large river valley dotted with Cretaceous andesite outcrops.

Australia 2022 Aerial Views
Bungle Bungle Range is located in the Purnululu National Park in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Erosion along fractures of a Devonian-Carboniferous sandstone and conglomerate outcrop created these distinctive beehive shaped towers. The orange colored rock layers are stained with iron and manganese minerals within the sandstone.

United Nations 1999 World Heritage Site
Willandra Lakes Region is situated in the semi-arid zone in New South Wales. It comprises sandstone and claystone beds resulted from desiccation of Willandra Lakes over the last 2 million years. Landscapes of deep gullies, pinnacles, and dunes were created by rain and wind action.
