I was just double checking a few sections and reviewing my needs in my self made/printed album pages and noticed something. I based my album pages in part on the 2007 Scott's catalog on disk. I was using my 2020 print addition to do the checks and look at my needs list.

I don't have any R123-R126 stamps at this time. But the illustration in Scott's has CHANGED since 2007! Checked 2014 and it's the same as 2020. From eBay ads it looks like R123-125 are the stamp depicted in 2007 (Ill. as R13c) but R126 is apparently the one depicted in 2014 & 2020 (Ill. as R13c).

I'm a bit confused as to A: Why the change was made and B: how the difference in design between R123-125 and R126 was missed by Scott's, apparently since 1871. There is no notation indicating multiple designs like they do in other instances.

As these stamps are different sizes and I include a small illustration and SC# within the mounting frame, I guess I'll be reprinting that album page!

I think Scott's needs an illustration R13Ca and R13Cb

Actually... I'm not sure about different sizes. Can someone with a set of R123-R126 please verify the size or size difference, if any.

R123-6 are all the same size. That is the reason for one illustration. R124-5 are very similar in design but obviously the denomination is different. The same is true for some of the smaller denominations. Scott's illustrations are each different size.

revenuermd: Thanks.

Interesting that they changed the illustration used for this particular issue, that's what threw me off. In most cases I double check the design while creating the album pages but in this case I had not.

They just made the illustration the lowest face value of the type instead of the highest face value. Which it should have been in the beginning.

revcollector: In this case it was the lowest demon in 2007 and they changed it to the highest ($2, $2.50, $3 and $3.50). Just another inconsistent listing from Scott's. In the same section, Revenues they do denote (multiple designs, multiple frames and multiple portraits) on some and not on others.

But I feel like I'm just beating a drum for the sake of hearing it. Not a big deal, I've reprinted the page, which is my own fault for not double checking the issues for design changes to begin with.
