The Great American Stamp Show is only a week away; is anyone planning to go? Someone must be, the hotels filled up very quickly.

I will be there Thursday afternoon and all day Friday. Saturday one of my daughters is driving up from Iowa and we'll probably head downtown to the Mag Mile or Gold Coast. |

Did you know that the World Money show is there at the same time and in the same convention center in Rosemont? Also the Hummel museum in in the convention center too. |

Looking forward to returning to an APS Summershow - it's been too long since Omaha 2019.
Hope to meet many of you in person at Booth 318.
Believe I'm the only non-US resident dealer allowed to travel to the show as the US border is still closed to most of the world.

Not this time around, can't spare the time for a trip right now. Too many time sensitive things going on at work and home to take off. |

Nope. I'm in the middle of my crunch period at work, exacerbated by an additional workload due to my taking early retirement at the end of September.
Also, the lion's share of dealers at GASS will also be at my favorite annual show Chicagopex in November, and I love the Westin in Itasca as a venue, not so much the facility in Rosemont.
A lot of people are going though, as virtually all online correspondence I've had with other revenue collectors in the past several months has invariably included their asking if I was going to be at GASS. All indications are that attendance should be good. |

I certainly agree. I am looking forward to spending the four days working at Henry Gitner's booth. |

To me, in Itasca it always seems like one is on an island somewhere, at least Rosemont feels like civilization. |

I guess that's why I love the Itasca location. The introvert in me loves that there aren't icky people everywhere . I don't feel buried in humanity. It's also an easy drive to/from and the parking is free. |

For me it's less the "icky people" factor and more the choices for various food & drink within walking distance. |

Now there I agree with you. There's nothing around the Westin that's walkable other than down that corridor to the other facilities, and most of those storefronts are closed on the weekends (which is dumb).
I typically just order delivery. There are any number of Chinese food and good pizza chains that deliver quite reasonably. Not a solution if you want ambiance rather than eating in your room though. |
