First lets go for humor for humor's sake and skip the offended by everything mode, without going overboard. Stick with G or PG13 ratings.
Here one to start it off:
A young collector asked an old advanced philatelist how he made his collection so advanced and valuable. The old guy said, "Well, young man, in 1940 when I got old letters from an uncle, I soaked off the stamps, dried them and put them in a presentation folder. I spent four days on this, after which I sold the stamps at my school for a cool 4 dollars. The next morning, I invested those four dollars in some more stamps on paper. I spent the next four days on them and sold them afterwards for 10 dollars. I continued this system for a month, by the end of which I'd accumulated a fortune of 200 dollars. Then my uncle died and left me his collection worth two million dollars...

My mailman buddy tells a lot of jokes about undelivered letters.
But no one seems to get them.

A guy walks into a post office one day to see a middle-aged, balding man standing at the counter methodically placing ''Love'' stamps on bright pink envelopes with hearts all over them. He then takes out a perfume bottle and starts spraying scent all over them. His curiosity gets the better of him and he goes up to the balding man and asks him what he is doing.
"I'm sending out 1,000 Valentine cards signed, 'Guess who?'"
"But why?'' asks the man.
"I'm a divorce lawyer."

Today I went to the post office to mail 20 letters... so I bought 20 stamps...and the clerk just handed them to me. So I said "Am I supposed to stick all these on myself?"...and she said "No. Stick them on the envelopes.."

I seem to recall that a few years back there was a thread with cartoons, but I can't seem to find it now. |

O.K. - Here is one I can say was a real prize winner. As published in Linn's Stamp News, Feb. 20, 1989. Under U.S. Notes by John M. Hotchner. And the prizes! |

The gold standard for philatelic cartoons are the ones published in Stamp Wholesaler magazine, unfortunately I do not think they are online anywhere that I can find. There is a volume called "All in Fun" which collects them all which is readily available (on ebay etc) but not online.
I enjoyed and LOL'ed at all of the jokes posted by jconey except the one about 20 stamps / stick them on the envelopes which unfortunately I just do not get. |

I mentioned this thread to my wife earlier, and she said,
"If you were a stamp I'd totally collect you because you're very fine."
True story. |
