It looks like the cover was carried via Belgium at the 27 cent rate. The "7" is Belgium's debit to the US (the US had to pay 7 cents of the 27 cents collected to Belgium)
That would have been my guess except that the 27 cents rate did not come until 1859. However, going thru Belgium would have explained the Transit Terrestre TT marking from Backnang to Belgium port before departure.
Unfortunately Belgium covers from that period is scarce in US literature. I am still searching for ship crossing & routes etc.
The date stamps suggest the entire travelled from Backnang in southwestern Germany 1 November to Bremen in northern Germany on 6 November.
The ST appear a bit too close together to be the 22.5 mm diameter stamp known to be used between 1840 and 1852. It looks more like the 23 mm diameter stamp known used between 1855 and 1857.
Just a wild guess; could TT be "Thurn und Taxis"
Just assuming the 1 is a 7, the sailing date is 6-11-1857 from Bremen to New Orleans, there are
