Hello,
I have to admit, it's been a while since I registered myself in the forum, but as it is, the Corona-situation started to subside and more outside activity had to be faced.
I hope to be able to visit more often in coming autumn.
However, I joined the forum because it is interesting for me to learn, what other enthusiasts from all over the globe work at philatelically.
What I saw so far has already been pretty rewarding, interesting perspectives and details.
I am from Germany, always had an interest on what happens beyond the German border and these days it has become so easy to contact people on an international level.
I am one of this incorrigible, crazy guys who have kept on collecting "all world" since childhood days and collect now for 46 years.
I never invested fortunes, only bought something here and there, often abroad. Friends added to the cause, collections have been absorbed and some nowerdays affordable material has recently been aquired.
That may seem as if I have been stuck on child's or lay level but I have a sound philatelic background thanks to my very well equipped public library, the subscription of magazines etc.
I never wanted to win the grand price and I certainly don't want to complete my collection, as that would mean that I would arrive at some kind of end, and doesn't lie death there?
The graphic and artistic aspect is of high interest for me, I love sorting things (hamsters love running in a wheel, I love sorting), appreciate the historic quote, have a desire for the foreign and yet unknown and a thirst for adventure and discovery.
I may still have to learn some of English philatelic vocabulary, and the translation work is time consuming, but one has to start at some point.
And let's see, if can get this post going...
Best regards from Düsseldorf
