599 Or 599A With A Plate Flaw Need Another Set Of Eyes

Help to identify 599/599A with possible s plate flaw.

looks like a plate scratch and poor wiping to me. it also could be the paper was too wet and poor wiping.

Looks like a Type I

Not sure if this is a scratched plate or ink on top of the image. I could be wrong but, perhaps a plate that wasn't wiped clean? The mark starts out narrow, widens, narrow again, then smooths out. 70% of the way across there is a heavy dark mark going up, following a hair line. Just above the left end there is also a heavy dot of ink.

Edit: also narrows again about 45% of the way across.

after seeing the blow up I think poor wiping and either an ink drop smear or piece of extraneous matter on the plate......

It's the rare 'hair barrette' variant (just joking)

It's still an interesting piece regardless of cause.
