Opinion. These do have fugitive ink, esp if in warm or hot water. The purple print on the blue, will change to Maroon. Always soak stamps, if you have to, in cool, clean water.

These have fugitive ink? I have dozens of examples of it soaked and I've never noticed anything. I'll check whether the purple has changed - if it has, I've learned something! |

If I am not mistaken, after 1887, chemical cleansing was the main concern.
There is a reason 3d, 6d and 2/6d stamps continued to be printed in purple colours. They were the most used for revenue purposes that also represented some value. |

Fugitive Ink. It may be subtle, but investigate top row, penultimate and last stamp on right hand side. The purple and maroon colours, or has the blue been affected. |

Gibbons specialised only lists pale purple, purple and deep purple, all on blue paper. That blue can vary a bit. |

Understanding site rules and policy, I'm merely seeking advice. If I were to need to sell this stamp, what would be a fair asking price? |

Finishing up on going over all incredibly informative posts. Understanding, the best I can, the time and sacrifices it took for each one of you to obtain the knowledge shared, I'll remain indebted. Brandon |
