I believe I see part of what reads Singapore when complete. Any feedback on this particular stamp is greatly appreciated.

Appears to be Straights Settlements SG 199, the 5c orange. King George V, issued August 1912.

The Straits Settlements were part of British-controlled Malaya, including Labuan (in Borneo), Malacca, Penang and Singapore.

It is the country or settlement in this case where the stamp originated. The black ink cancelling it is the city/country post office where it was cancelled.

At different points in time, Singapore island has been part of Malacca, Johor, Britain, Straits Settlements, Malaya and Malaysia ...
