Many years ago, I read a book, from the library, about the history of stamp collecting, with a focus on Nassau Street. The book also included various stamp collecting business venues in other cities. I've searched, of and on, for this book for decades. Is anyone familiar with it?

Hi

You're probably referring to Nassau Street by Herman Herst, published in 1988.

The book in question might also be Paper Chase by Alvin Harlow (pub. 1940), which is a general treatment of the history of philately and philatelists up to that time, and has a chapter devoted particularly to Nassau Street.

ETA: Herst's Nassau Street has had several editions. The original was published in 1960.
