I've been unable to identify these stamps in Scott or any other catalogues. Any help is greatly appreciated.

That's the Emir Abdullah to you at that stage, sir. A man who, as Gertrude Bell said, liked his copy of Le Figaro.

The BBC made a documentary about her a few years ago (not currently streaming here), which may have surfaced on PBS

Thank you, Geoff. Plan to watch this weekend.

Although not currently available on BBC iPlayer, "Letters from Baghdad" is available via Amazon Prime.

The 2016 documentary chronicles the life of Gertrude Bell, oft dubbed the "female Lawrence of Arabia". British actress Tilda Swinton gives voice to Bell, drawing upon the correspondent's more than 1,600 letters.

The many aspects of philately. So much more than tiny pieces of coloured paper.

Thank you Robert and Calstamp. Robert - is there a particular Barefoot catalog for Transjordan revenue stamps? I live in Washington, DC and have access to an extensive philatelic library at the Smithsonian Postal Museum. They have a number of Barefoot revenue catalogs, but nothing specifically for Jordan or Transjordan.

Thanks again!
Greg

You can find Transjordan in Barefoot's "British Commonwealth Revenues".
