Seems to belong in Barefoot's series #475-481, where "adopengö" is written with a small "a." And indeed Barefoot shows an image of this stamp right above that series. Yet there's no listing for it (2000 on a 2P red & green). I've searched both Barefoot's site and this forum without success. Can anyone help?

Thank you, perf12. I don't read Hungarian, but the site that you've provided seems to show my stamp as #630 in the category "Okirati Illetek" = Stamp Duty. In Barefoot this stamp would then have to show those words diagonally overprinted (Barefoot #27-30). So I'm still a bit confused.

I've written to Barefoot about this. Will convey his reply (if any).

John Barefoot has responded (overnight!) to my query. He says that the stamp shown above ought to have been listed as #481. Currently that number is mistakenly described as 2000ap on a 1P green & brown. Future editions of his Hungary Revenues will correct that entry to read 2000ap on a 2P red & green.

And hats off to any author/publisher who will respond to a reader's query, let alone so quickly.

"I don't read Hungarian" - my Google chrome offers the ability to translate the page to English. Don't you have that option? It opens up plenty of online resources.

Interesting stuff on the adopengo here. Anyone who thinks that the German inflation stamps were the last word about face value should look at this......
