The 8 cent domestogrammes and 15 cent Aerogrammes issued in 1973 were originally sold in packs of 6. I assume that the Post Office charged a premium for these but so far I have not been able to find out the original cost of the packs.

Does anyone have that information please.

AQ,

I am looking at the original pamphlet announcing these items but there is no mention of a price for the sets of six (or singles for that matter) other than to say they were available from the Philatelic Service. I don't know if a separate order form was included with it since all I have is the announcement.

Thanks for that info. I have not seen this packaging before. The premium over face was 52 cents and I guess that something similar applied to the Aerogrammes which had a face value of 90 cents per pack of 6 so perhaps they sold for $1.50?

I am still wondering if they were sold at every post office or only the larger ones.

I have just been shown a information card from the Aerogramme pack which says that they were sold for $1.40 per pack. A premium of 50 cents over the face value so that is one half of the original questions answered.

The info I was shown has the corrected spelling of NORTHWEST not NORTH WEST so it may be from the 1974 issue. Does anyone have a copy of that card from the 1973 issues and is the NORTH WEST error present on the illustration on the card. The image lithograving posted above is from the pack that did not have this sheet in it.

Now I just want to find out where they were sold. And also find a couple of commercially used examples !!!!!

Here is the other card from the second pack of floral domestogrammes
and the North West Territories cover.

Note that mine are the original 1973 ones with the poste spelling
error.
They were all reissued later with the correct postes

Where were they sold?
On the back of the card it states that sets are available in post offices across Canada.

In those days I got most of my stamps from the Philatelic Service
in Ottawa.
Sometimes I would head down to the Toronto Postal Station A
on Front Street where I could get stuff at the Philatelic Window.
I cant remember if I ever saw them sold in any sub stations
in Toronto.
I don't think they were too popular with the public.
The 15c Floral Aerogrammes had more use I believe since that was the rate to Europe until about 1975.

Thanks very much I think that answers most of my questions.

I see that the spelling error NORTH WEST was only on the aerogramme / domestogramme themselves and not on the info card. Not really surprising as they were probably designed by different people.

Perhaps someone will know if they were sold in the smaller offices. I agree that they were not popular although I think it was a fairly good idea. Based on the Webb price for commercially used examples and the lack of them for sale on eBay etc putting together a commercially used set should be quite a challenge.
