I was doing some research and found a few online sources stating this stamp in mint condition would be worth nearly 400k. Now, I don't expect mine to be worth anything near that but I was hoping someone could shed some more light on it for me.

Many thanks in advance.

Not knowing us stamps well I would say - Is the perforation the same? Paper type, print type, color, etc. Also it is centered up, so little margin and it looks used, cancelled or has perf staining. Hard to tell from photo. Double check and do it again.

Your "online sources" are leading you astray into the "special printings". You will find your stamp among the normal printings. See Scott 179 and 185.

Also, your stamp is used. Note the smudging at the bottom.

Is your 'online source' the Swedish Tiger website?

Thank you gents! I had no idea stamp collecting had so many little things to look for, I think it is more than coins by far. I can see why people love this so much.

Activated, welcome to the forum. A lot to learn and more than any one person knows. Don has a good site for beginners as well as established collectors at stampsmarter.org A great and growing knowledge based educational site. You should check it out.

And as far as coins, they have many different intriciaes as well to be researched and studied.

I went with stamps as there is much to learn from each individual one about the different cultures and peoples from the different issuing countries. Enjoy the hobby!
