2022 USA New Issues Revealed

Looks better than 2021. Not nearly so many "stickers", as far as it goes.

Only marine sanctuaries and the mighty Mississippi do anything at all for me. The rest look like we unfortunately have become used to over the past several years

The George Morisson and Pony cars collection seem nice. I would love to get my tweezers on a set.

As we now know of more issues here are the ones I have begun getting or will get:

a) Waving Flags commemoratives, coils and 20 stamp pane. I usually do not find Flag stamps worth collecting but this rendition is one of the best I have seen in a long time. Plus as it is a commemorative both will likely run for max 2 years (of course there are exceptions). Although the run is high - 200 million - I think these will be bought out quickly.

b) I like the new Chinese Zodiac series stamps started in 2019 so I am going to get the Year of the Tiger.

c) I like the designs' classical motifs and simplicity of Title IX. Will get those.

d) I like the George Morrison and will get that.

e) The USPS issued a nice commemorative in intaglio in 2021, if they do so in 2022 I will get a pane.

f) 4 cent Blueberries definitives 20 stamp pane from USPS and from eBay will get a few coil strips with plate numbers showing one one stamp per strip.

g) The Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express stamps this year are gorgeous and I will splurge to purchase 4 of each.

h) New international first class stamps will be issued so I may just get one from the post office. I have enough of the older issues for use for family and postcrossing outside the US.

I will save for 2023 getting the $2 and $5 stamp issues planned as I do not see the designs yet. If USPS issues as they now have for 2021 and 2018 Duck Stamps a Duck Stamp Artist Commemorative Card toward the end of the year for different years, I will get that. The present ones run $70 and, to me, a great buy (and I do not actively collect duck stamps but I like them) and worthy collectible. So this would increase my spending to about $270. I need to save room for a few World stamp and UNPA issues but not much. Really don't want to spend more than $500 on stamps this year and preferably a little less.

But 2022 has some nice stuff --- also see the Non-profit flower stamps look rather cool.

The new $2 & $5 designs lack imagination.

The Mountain Flora issue looks elegant and attractive from an aesthetic standpoint, although I wish the stamp size were larger and in a pane vs booklet, which makes it more suitable for framing. Perhaps in a few years that issue will sell for triple FV, like the Cactus Flowers issue from 2019.

when do all the new stamps get released? I saw a few that came out in mid-January but when do the rest come out?
