Hi guys

Just noticed this oddity on one of my Scott/Unitrade 196i blocks.
The top left stamp has 2 lines across the internal oval.

Not sure if it is just and oddity or a possible variety.
Hoping you guys out there can check your stamps.

Robert

I only have a few 196i (dry) and didn't find any with those lines. Also checked a bunch of the 100 or so I have of the wet printing (196) and nothing either.

Here is another line in the oval of Scott 196. This one is used.

Also, a similar one is shown on Plate 3, LL block in mint condition.

This is NOT a constant variety as I have another Scott 196 Plate 3 LL block that does not have this line.

Please show the back gum sides of your 196 stamps to make sure that they are 196i stamps.

wert: The one that you show is a 196 plate block.
See http://goscf.com/t/72840
It would be nice to have an illustrated stamp guide book like this.

Unitrade Canada # 196i is now Scott Canada # 196d in the Scott 2022 Classic Specialized Catalogue of 1840 to 1940 Stamps and Covers.
