Quote: postagedueguy, Thanks for the uploaded pic of the expired Postal Note! Golly Gee, it there anything left?
Yes I did enjoy all the Material you provided. As I stated, I did go back and re-read everything and once a day or so refer to a particular section to make sure that I digested it correctly. I have dyslexia and have to read everything over and over in order to get the meaning of most of what I read! Once as an air traffic controller trainee when it was soooooooo busy I not only turned a call sign around but multiplied it by two! American 124 became American 842! Dang near flunked out due to that but went on to spend 27 years as an ATCS (Air Traffic Control Specialist)
I do have several questions but will hold them off until another day
John
No problem. Actually I went through my collection and found one more thing. Please have a look below. I do have one other interesting thing - a run of postal notes from 1 cent though $10. Also about 30 years ago I seen a set of Postal Note FDCs with serial numbers 1 - 18 which were from the FDR collection. I wish I had them, but didn't have that much money back then. I'd be happy to answer any questions.
Quote: Any more compliments on postagedueguy's exhaustive displays of these PNCs? He deserves a much broader audience than has viewed so far!
Glad you enjoyed my collection. I agree, but Postal Notes are something most collectors probably have never heard of. How about Potato Tax Stamps next? Ever seen a postal card printed on both sides?

Thank you. There's one more thing I found.
Application for a Duplicate Postal Note
I do have more, but the rest are duplicates of what I've already posted.

ALSO: Thanks to John Becker for his early on posts to this thread! I believe that with his and postagedueguys contributions that this must be the best and most complete private collection of information on PNs! |

The thread morphed wonderfully beyond the original question. The best way to increase viewership and appreciation for the topic would be a change to the thread title to include "Postal Notes" as part of it.
My initial posts were soon eclipsed, such I didn't have anything to add which had not been posted by PDG. |

Who in admin would jomic-3139 get in touch with? Would it be through the 'Contact Us' button under navigation? |

And as Postagedueguy has shown, there is much more with these 18 black stamps. Jomic 3139 showed his postal note stub of only 50 cents. There are actually three types of Stubs to recognize. First one printed by Remington Rand, second type printed by IBM on the paper of Remington Rand. After 10 months that paper was done so IBM started to print the third type on its own paper. I do have a collection of stubs from 1 cent, 2 cents, 3 cents up to $10.00 in three types (missing only 20 of type two, because they are very hard to find. (only produced for 10 months) missing $0.01, $0.04, $0.06, $0.09, $0.11, $0.14, $0.16, $0.21, $0.32, $0.37, $0.39, $0.47, $0.56, $0.68, $0.71, $0.76, $9.27, $9.58 $9.59 and $9.87. More than 40.000 stubs on hand *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***Here is another picture of the boxes used at Post offices to sell their Postal Note stamps and cards. |

us-rev-! Thanks for the informative addition to this post! And welcome to the SCF forum!! You must have advertised for sale some of your goodies to be scolded by staff. No, problem, just remember that you have to have 50 or more posts before buying, selling or trading. After your 50 posts, contact me via email service provided on this forum and let me know how much you want for the catalog! Again. John |

postagedueguy, I couldn't help to remember all your work on this thread when looking at ALL your sheets of Canal Zone Postage Due Stamps. What an organizer and collector you are! Thanks again postagedueguy for sharing your vast collections with us here on SCF.

John
Thanks. It comes from collecting the last two postage due issues by number and position for the last 48 years. I'm complete on J79 - J87 and only need 2 plate blocks to be complete on J88 - J104. |
