Postage Envelope Oddity Or Not?

Hello. Just going thru grandfather old inherited collection. He's got tons of envelopes and FDC's. Came across this postage envelope that appears to have been struck twice. Is that something a machine produced or a postal employee at the local PO? Thanks Ed

These are called Albino errors.Yours looks like a double embossed .The embossed part was not positioned in the correct spot.They can fetch a good premium.someone may know...

Question: is the envelope still complete, or has it been clipped (aka cut square) from a whole envelope?

If complete, then value would be in the $35 to $50 range.

As to how it was made:

This envelope blank came through the press with another on top of it. Therefore it didn't get any ink, but it did get embossed. The press operator took it and fed it back through the press where it got a correctly made indicium.

Was just going thru a foreign stamp album and found this one. Really cool but I can't find one via google probably because I don't know how to describe it! lol
