GB - Xmas Stamp 1970 - Possible Missing Gold

Following up from your earlier message. I see one band of phospher starting from left of the Queen's head to through the center of the head. The band appears to be intact and did not appear to be broken when it crossed through the head. I tried taking a photo/scan but none showed the phospher band clearly.

What is the difference between impressed (1967 - 69) and embossed (started 1970 onwards)?

Both were used since 1966. There is no particular time period during which one or the other was used.

The surface of the embossed cameo is raised. Although both show an impression on the back of the stamp and the flat printing is somewhat raised as well, the difference is easily visible.

At the top is the embossed cameo on a 1966 Christmas stamp, at the bottom the flat cameo on one of the two 1966 'Battle of Hastings' stamps.

I had never noticed there was gold anywhere other than the head. This thread has caused me to look more closely at the stamps than I have ever done before. I'm learning about things staring me in the face. Gold embossed heads on the hi value Battle of Hastings stamps and all that gold ink on the 1970 Christmas set, Which as you probably already know were the last UK stamps issued in pounds shillings and pence.

I have something similar, not exact..
The one I have has full gold on half, split by the phosphorus bands (full gold side)
other half looking like the OP (lack of gold)
I just mark it as a EFO
Fun to look at these types of things

To me yours looks pretty interesting,
Are the phosphorus bars added after the gold print?
I don't collect these
