I have had a lot of old stamps (late 19th to mid 20th century) hidden away for a while now. Included is an old book with hinged from all over the world. I took out the US pages and soaked off the stamps. I just really appreciate the artistry of the designs of these old stamps. Along with the loose ones, I decided to begin putting together the various series. I will post my progress, and get ready for a lot of stupid questions I've been reading the forums for the past day, and am really getting drawn in.
Thanks!

Dorset,

Collecting for the enjoyment of collecting, whatever that might be, is the name of the game. Don't hesitate to ask questions especially if you need basic information and especially more advanced sources of information for any possible topic. You should be able to find folks on this board a little further along on their collecting journey glad to share experiences. Russ

Thanks, Guys,
The accumulation I acquired included a junior stamp book from the '30's. Very common, but I soaked the US pages because there were a few nice examples of a #286, a #C10, a #370,#372 #323, as well as tax stamps. The book is beat up, and I'd like to get a new one without hinges. But the other pages have some nice world stamps. Also there are a few hundred loose world examples sorted by country from the early 20th century. I will scan example and post on the inherited forum. By the way, I'm from Kingston, MA.

Rogdcam, dorset and others.

Wow! I also am in the Berkshires, but not in Massachusetts. (We dd have a place in Truro, a few years back, but we sold it.)

I think the Berkshires is the most lovely part of New England. Especially if you like skiing and hiking.

Paris - I am prejudiced but it is amazing to be able to visit Tanglewood, dine at the Red Lion, hike at Bartholomew's Cobble, view fine art at the Clark, visit the Rockwell Museum, shop in Lenox and be home in the same day.
